These vans are built right here in the USA at the plant in Kansas City, MO. This is great for consumers because they can get parts really fast. All 13 of the upfitter plants are located within 30 miles of the main plant in Kansas City. Ford Transit cargo vans are built with a unibody framework for long lasting strength and durability. There is a choice of three different roof heights and three engines to choose from. Two gas engines and one diesel engine option available. Every Transit comes with a 6 speed automatic transmission. The modern, car-like feel is what separates the Transit from its competitors.
